Bhutan is the “Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon”. Still regarded as one of the last “Shangri La” in the Himalayas. Bhutan is a remote and beautiful trekking and travel destination of snow-clad mountains, lush valleys, dense forests and rushing streams. An unparalleled adventure destination, open for all kinds of travellers.
Bhutan is also a spiritual country offering rituals in remote monasteries. You can witness daily life in far-flung rural communities, with their ancient and colourful festivals and fascinating tradition. It is in the unexplored pockets of Asia, which attracts the discerning travellers to experience Bhutan. In the light of the fragility of such a small nation in a fast moving world, this sliver of an old world may, in the future, be denied to us.
When you visit Bhutan, you will become one of the few who have experienced the natural charm of the only country in the World where Gross National Happiness is deemed more important than Gross National Product. You will experience Bhutan’s natural wonders first-hand when travelling the mountain passes – resplendent with rhododendron blossom in spring. Botanical riches and unique mammals and birds are protected in several national parks. Your visit typically revolves around one of the country’s many festivals with amazing displays of national celebration and religious devotion. You also have a unique opportunity to visit remote villages and experience the traditional Bhutanese way of life. It is a true explorer’s paradise that this land has to offer.
